Before going camping, Hannah and I went to the library. One of the books we checked out was Baking with Julia. Hannah was inspired! After we got home yesterday, she made Brioche dough, and then got up at 3am this morning to finish the sticky buns for the first-day-of-school breakfast. She made a beautiful beer bread, and a genoise (french sponge cake). Pastry chef in the making?!
While Hannah was in the kitchen, I finished sewing an apron.
Ali and Henry were less than thrilled to be starting school this morning. Henry had to be there early because his schedule isn’t completely ironed out yet. Neither Ali or Henry are going to play in orchestra this year. I know the orchestra teacher is going to be sorely disappointed. Ali would have been concert mistress, and Henry the up and coming master.
Hannah and I are going to drive her car over to the repair shop this morning. Hopefully they can figure out what is wrong. This afternoon we are going to license Ali’s pickup, and go to Henry’s soccer game in Nampa.
I have to work the rest of the week, so am enjoying working around the house today.
Scott left before 7am, and won’t be home from school until 5:15. He will then teach lessons for 2 hours followed by practicing and homework. Full schedule, and he is picking up a more students 🙂 Yesterday he finished a walkway from the front door to the wood pile. We won’t be tracking mud this year 🙂
